The decision to start the band came one evening when Ron and myself (Tony) were jamming and Ron said someone wanted a band for Halloween. He said his cousin Ben would be the drummer, the fact that he lived in Birmingham didn't deter us. This gave us about 6 weeks to rehearse so we gave Ben a list of songs and we all started practising. About a week later Ron suggested that Stuart, a pupil of his should join as rhythm guitarist so Ben came down that weekend and we had our first full rehearsal. This got off to a shaky start but after awhile things started to gel and sounded OK.

During the next few weeks we all spent as much time as possible rehearsing the material. Another booking came along which brought our first performance forward by a week. This was probably a good thing as it inspired us to even greater effort and by the time this came along things were sounding quite good.
